Genzebe Dibaba took a leaf out of her older sister Tirunesh’s book as she comprehensively outkicked Meseret Defar over the last lap of the 5000m. The world indoor 1500m champion made her move 300m from home and opened more than 20 metres on the Olympic gold medallist to clock 14:45.93, the first sub-15 minute performance of the season. Defar made it an Ethiopian one-two in 14:47.76 with Kenya’s Viola Kibiwot third in 14:48.29.
